Pirates
Amateurs 15 Camborne 2nds 5
Saturday 20th September 2008
Much
of this first Merit Table game of the season played at the Mennaye Field was evenly
matched & scoreless at half-time due to solid defensive effort shown by both
sides.
In the second half the 'Amateurs' upped the pace
of the game, and after adding fresh legs from the bench soon opened the scoring
when wing Ed Skewes went over out wide.
Further unconverted
tries followed for No. 8 Scott Powell and prop Danny Lugg, before Camborne's 'never
say die attitude' was rewarded with their one try of the match scored at the old
Western National corner of the ground.
