Pirates
Colts 17 Liskeard-Looe 0
Saturday 4th October 2008
The
Pirates Colts continued their 100% record with a fine home performance, and despite
the match being played in wind and rain it was a credit to both teams for putting
on an entertaining game.
Getting off to a sound start, prop forward Danny
Toolan crashed over after good work by the Pirates backs. The try was converted
by Kelvin James, but there was then a blow when scrum-half Sam Stevens was forced
to go off with a bad rib injury, to be replaced by Henry Mander.
When the
second half action began, the Pirates soon extended their lead with a try scored
by 'man of the match' centre Josh Semmens. However, with the weather worsening
the score then stayed at 12-0 until the final minute when No. 8 Kyle Richards
went over in the corner for a second unconverted try.
To provide an indication
of how well the unbeaten Pirates Colts have started, they have scored 117 points
and only conceded 10, with the whole squad deserving of credit for the great enthusiasm
shown which they have taken into their games.
