U13s 64 St. Ives U13s 0
On a wonderfully hot
and sunny Sunday, the Pirates U13s played matches against both St. Ives and Falmouth,
the games played 12 minutes each half. In this first
match the Pirates defeated St Ives by nine tries to nil. Scrum-half Phil Nicholas
was a lively link for the forwards to combine well with the backs, the power and
pace on show leading to some excellent scores being taken by the starting team
and all replacements used. St. Ives, to their credit, tackled
to the end and never let their heads drop.Try-scorers for the Pirates were Lockran
William (5), Tom Holdsworth (4) and Dillon Tree. Coliver Hallworth added four
conversions, with three also kicked by Sam Coogan.

U13s 43 Falmouth U13s 0 In the second of their two matches
the Penzance lads kept to their game plan of putting width on the ball at every
opportunity, and it paying dividends with seven good tries scored through Tom
Holdsworth (4), Lockran Williams (2) and Lewis Wells. Conversions
were kicked by Oliver Hallworth (3) and Sam Coogan. The
forwards again played well, and none more so than debutant Tom Lambourn who won
the `man of the match` award . A final game at the Mennaye
Field involved Falmouth and St. Ives, with the former, who loaned four of the
Pirates to make up their team, winning an even contest by 10-5.

U8s 3 Redruth U8s 6
Both teams brought additional
squad members along with them on Sunday, so it was decided that players from last
season's U7s team would play the first match against am impressive Redruth side
that led 4-1 at the break because of their good tagging and defence. The
Pirates started the second half strongly and managed three fine tries themselves
through excellent tagging and passing, but Redruth still emerged winners. Try-scorers
for the Pirates were were Morgan Harvey and Ethan Wyatt, and the full team was
as follows:- Mackenzie Oliver, Alistair Stacey, Ethan Wyatt, Kyran Richardson,
Jamie Shrosbree, Denzel Motusaga, Morgan Harvey, William Simons and Jo Roach.

U8s 4 Redruth U8s 5 For this second match the Pirates
fielded an all new squad, it one with only 5 weeks tag rugby experience. To
their credit the players showed superb enthusiasm and keenness which was well
rewarded, scoring four tries in the narrow defeat. The Pirates try-scorers
were Josh Bainbridge and Joshua Storey, and the full team was follows:- Daniel
Tucker, Maia Adams, Josh Bainbridge, Imogen Gray-Williams, Joshua Storey, Jack
Le Marechal, Oliver Roach.
Pirates U7s 5 Redruth
U7s 3 12th October, 2008 This enthusiastic
Pirates team, which has only been playing together for five weeks, put up a fantastic
performance with good passing and tagging throughout the match. At
half time the score was 3-0, but Redruth then came back strongly and scored three
quick tries themselves before the Pirates finished strongly to win 5-3. Jago
Perran was the try-scorer for the Pirates, and the team was as follows:- Milly
