Wadebridge

16th November, 2008
This was a great game
of rugby played between two fully committed teams at the Molesworth Field.
After
leaking a converted try early on, the Pirates then defended well to keep their
line intact, and then conjured up a try of their own. Man of the match Ed Holmes
had made the initial break out, with the move finished off with a try scored by
hooker Asher Richards.
Playing with the advantage of the elements in the
second half, the Pirates took the game to their hosts, with the forwards showing
up especially well. Two successive scrums were won against the head, and it of
no surprise when the Pirates took the lead when Asher Richards was driven over
the line for his second try of the morning. The Pirates were now very much in
the driving seat, and it not long before centre Tom Holdsworth crossed out wide
for the last score of the match.
Praise must be given to Pirates reserves
Jacob Perry and Sam Vernon, who sportingly turned out for Wadebridge after two
of their number had been injured before the start of the game

Both sides had a good
turn out of players, so the respective coaches sensibly agreed to play three thirds
to give all the youngsters a reasonable amount of playing time. Displaying speed
and excellent tagging from the start, tries for the Pirates were scored by Alistair
Stacey, Ethan Wyatt, Morgan Harvey, Jack Le Marechal, Mawgan Osborne, Jamie Shrosbree,
and Joshua Storey.

good tagging and passing throughout.
