In an even and keenly contested first
match of the season, the Pirates U15s fully deserved this winning start after
soaking up late sustained pressure from their Newquay hosts.
Pirates flanker
Oliver Semmens made a huge impact after a year out due to injury, the side scoring
two tries through Will Collins and debut man Josh Brigley, with Harvey James adding
a penalty.

The Pirates U13s started their season off
in style with a convincing win away to Newquay, playing exciting and entertaining
rugby to outscore their hosts by 10 tries to one.
After a sticky first 10
minutes the Pirates clicked into gear, with the forwards dominant in all compartments
and giving the Hornets a torrid time. From possession won it was inevitable that
the tries would likely flow, which they did, but it could have been more if the
handling was just a little better - that an area to address in training.
