Pirates U13s 12 Redruth U13s 10
26th October
2008
On a wet and miserable Sunday morning, the Pirates U13s
came up against a well drilled and committed Redruth side.
In a game
that could have gone either way, the Pirates scored tries through Lockran Williams
and Asher Richards, with the latter converted by Oliver Hallworth.
Before
the break the 'Reds' had a player sin-binned for making a high tackle. However,
despite having numerical advantage the Pirates were unable to add to their score.
In
the second half the Pirates introduced all of their replacements, as Redruth came
storming back with two tries on their own, but the home side held on with Hallworth's
conversion proving the all important and ultimately match winning score.
Man
of the match for the Pirates was lock Mike Wilson, who pleased the coaches for
the effort he gave. As for points to work on, tackling will head the agenda at
this Friday's training, it important to show improvement ahead of a tough game
away to Penryn this coming Sunday.
