Having beaten Penryn away earlier in the season, the Pirates were hoping to ' do the double' on home ground at the Mennaye Nursery field, in another match that promised to be extremely close.

Pirates Youth Rugby Open Evening
Friday March 14th 4:30 to 6:30

The Pirates Youth rugby section hopes to hold an Open Evening on Friday March 14th, from 4:30 - 6:30, in the clubhouse, to which parents of current and future members and others are invited to meet the age group coaches.

Adrian Bick, the newly appointed Club Coaching Co-ordinator for Youth Rugby said "The number of young people we're coaching compared to just 5 years ago has doubled. The club and the coaches want to offer the best quality rugby experience to the young people, but we are currently limited by a lack of resources, principally volunteer input." Full Details >>>

The Pirates mini/junior section has recently launched its own forum on the web.

It can be found by following the 'Juniors Forum' link under Fanzone

Section Secretary, Wendy Nicholas said
"Those running mini/junior rugby for the Pirates felt that we should try different ways to communicate with our membership and their parents. The forum is one such way.

We hope that the members and indeed their parents will also use it to communicate about all matters to do with rugby in the section. They can use it between each other, with their coaches and committee members."

All section members are encouraged to use the forum. They will need to undertake a simple on-line registration process.

The forum will be moderated by members of the mini/junior committee.

Wendy continued "We hope that users will see the benefits of the forum over time. The forum will be moderated. Anyone abusing it will, unfortunately, have to be barred from using it in the future."

Pirates Juniors Forum

Penzance & Newlyn RFC's Mini-Junior training times have just been confirmed for the forthcoming rugby season . They are as follows:-

U10s - Tuesdays from 5.30-6.30pm, starting on the 4th. September.

U15/16s - Wednesdays from 5.30pm, starting on the 5th. September.

U7/8/9/11s - Fridays from 4.30-5.30pm, starting on the 7th. September.

U12/13/14s - Fridays from 5.30pm, starting Friday 7th. September.

All sessions will take place at the Mennaye Nurseries field.
